FAQ

macOS says the app cannot be opened.

EditAI is ad-hoc signed and not notarised. Right-click the app and choose Open the first time, or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/EditAI.app.

Do my cameras need the same sound?

Yes. Syncing listens for the same sound in every file, so each camera needs a microphone, even a weak camera mic. Cameras without sound can be placed by hand.

A camera is out of sync.

Open the Sync tab, check its match strength and nudge it. See Syncing cameras.

Does my video get uploaded?

No. Everything runs on your Mac. If you use Claude, it receives transcript text and the stills it requests, not your video.

Do I need an API key?

No. The MCP server runs locally and is launched by Claude Desktop or Claude Code, using your own Claude subscription or setup.

Can I use it without Claude?

Yes. Auto-cut, Remove silences and the full timeline work on their own.

Which Macs work?

macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon is what it is tested on.

Different resolutions and frame rates?

Fine. Each camera is fitted into the output frame, and the export uses the nearest standard rate of your fastest camera.

Which languages work?

Fast and Balanced are English-only (base.en, small.en). Best (large-v3-turbo) is multilingual.

Is there a Windows version?

Not yet. It is on the roadmap.

Where do I report a bug?

On GitHub, with your macOS version and how many cameras and how long.
